    Description

    Union Major General and Medal of Honor Recipient Oliver Otis Howard Signed Photograph. The image measures approximately 4" x 5.5" and is mounted on a backing mat to an overall size of 5.5" x 9". Both the image and mat bear the imprint of Barker Studio, Burlington, Vermont. Signed boldly beneath the image "Oliver O. Howard / Major-General / U.S. Army". The general is posed standing in full dress uniform circa 1908. Some abrasion/spots on the mat and top edge of image, not affecting the general, otherwise a sharp, clear image in very good condition. Oliver lost his right arm at the Battle of Fair Oaks where he received the Medal of Honor for his gallantry.
