    Description

Union General William A. Hammond Carte de Visite. 2.5" x 4". Hammond is featured in a vignetted chest up portrait, in uniform and turned slightly to his right, though he faces the camera. Taken from a Mathew Brady image, it is affixed to an E. & H.T. Anthony mount. A pencil notation on the verso identifies the general. Very light toning to the upper edge of the mount, else fine.
