Union Brigadier General Edward Stuyvesant Bragg: Beautiful Cabinet Card Photograph of the Iron Brigade Commander. Approximately 4.25" x 6.5" with a Handy, Washington, D. C. studio mark printed at the lower edge of the mount. Bragg (1827-1912) poses in uniform in this handsome portrait. Already a seasoned politician before the war, Bragg quickly rose through the ranks when war commenced. Wounds received at Chancellorsville kept him from participating in the Gettysburg Campaign. After recovering from his wounds he was promoted to Brigadier General of volunteers, commanding the famed Iron Brigade in the latter stages of the war. A superb image in excellent condition.
