    No place; circa 1890

    Part of the Photographic War History (#383), produced by Taylor & Huntington of Hartford, Connecticut. On verso the caption reads, "One of the common and characteristic scenes in the Union army during the war was a group of 'contrabands,' happy and thankful, if permitted to remain under the protection of 'Massa Linkum's Soldiers.' Here the photographer shows us such a group."

    Condition: Light wear at the corners, with soiling along the edges. Else good.
