DescriptionSixth Plate Tintype Of Civil War Soldier With ID. Identified on old ink script tag as "William Wilson Died of dysentery in Civil War". Uniform is somewhat enigmatic but likely Federal. Dark narrow brimmed slouch hat, non-reg unpiped frock coat with standup collar, open revealing vest underneath. Very puffy at the shoulders and tight sleeves indicating it is very early war or a pre war militia uniform. Fine quality, one smudge at upper right not affecting subject. In whole case.
From the estate of Houston collector Brent Burg.

We had a wonderful time in New York during the October 2013 Historical Manuscripts auction that featured my mother’s papers collected during her tenure as Martin Luther King, Jr.’s secretary. In fact, the entire experience from beginning to end has been a pleasure.View More Testimonials
