Holds Mississippi rifle with saber bayonet fixed, although a saber bayonet is also visible in the scabbard on his belt so the rifle was Early war soft emulsion doubtless a studio prop passed from soldier to soldier as they were photographed. Early war soft emulsion image with some minor bluing but excellent and quite crisp. Housed in a very fine figural thermoplastic case "Sir Roger DeCoverly and the Gypsies" Very fine with just a few minor chips and hairlines and one small hole at a hinge. Very crisp. Rare image in a great case.
