DescriptionNinth Plate Tintype of an Unidentified Civil War Soldier. Posed with an upright sword in his right hand, with gold uniform accents. Excellent condition in octagonal thermoplastic case.
Wilbur Zink did not provide any attribution for this image, but one cannot help but wonder what a photo of a youth in a Federal uniform was doing in his collection. It was stored along with Quantrill-related images, and it is well-known that Quantrill's men sometimes dressed as union soldiers to deceive the enemy. So quite possibly this image is of a Quantrill guerrilla.
