John McCorkle (?): A Quarter Plate Tintype in Confederate Officer's Uniform. John McCorkle was one of William Quantrill's top officers and played an active role in most important Quantrill engagements, including the Lawrence, Kansas, raid and the Battle of Independence. Wilbur Zink had identified this image as being McCorkle. However, no documentation for that attribution accompanied this piece, and our research has failed to turn up a single photographic image for comparison purposes. It is a very striking image, with added gold accents on the buttons as was popular during the Civil War period. The tintype is a strong, clear image as shown, with a dark area in the lower right-hand corner. Worn leatherette case is separated at the hinge.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
