Impressive And Unusual Quarter Plate Tintype Of Armed Federal Infantryman. Nearly full length standing. Wears forage cap with infantry horn on top. Nine button frock coat. Waist belt with oval plate tinted gilt with what appears to be a Pond revolver tucked in the one side. On the other side of the belt he wears a carbine size cartridge box, very unusual. There is also gilt tinting on top of his hat, at collar, and on cuffs of coat that actually give the coat the look of being Confederate, however, the standard Federal infantry horn on the top of the M1859 forage cap would negate that possibility, and the extra gilt is apparently 'artistic license' on the part of the photographer. Very fine quality, perfect condition in a nice floral geometric case with hinge nicely repaired.

This was my first time dealing with an auction house, and I am 100% completely impressed with Heritage. There is not an aspect of this process that I have a critique for.
