DescriptionHalf-Plate Civil War Tintype "The Wedding Procession" (Krainik 10). 5" x 6.25", circa 1860s, housed in a rare thermoplastic case embossed with "The Wedding Procession," inspired by a Henry Wadsworth Longfellow drawing. The engraving was done by Anthony Schaefer, with the case being made by Littlefield, Parsons and Company. A young Union soldier, Private George Groff, stands for a studio portrait, dressed in his uniform with his gold watch chain visible.
Condition: Very fine, case shows minimal signs of wear and the image is clear and in good condition.
