    Civil War Quarter Plate Tintype Of Black Infantry NCO. Wears nine button frock coat with sergeant's stripes tinted blue on each sleeve. Waist belt with rectangular plate tinted gilt with over the shoulder sling. Forage cap with insignia on top and holding NCO sword in front of him. Also wearing sash which is tinted red. Painted military backdrop. Image just a shade dark and some small scattered roughness in upper right corner but emulsion appears to be totally stable. Also a few minor wrinkles but none affecting emulsion, negligible. Most rare subject
