    Civil War: Pair of Tintypes Featuring Group Shots of Union Soldiers. Including: 1.) Half plate tintype of seven unidentified Union soldiers in "stair step" order, taken outdoors. The seven soldiers wear shell jackets and most are holding their hats by their side. Certain elements of their uniforms, for example buttons and a watch chain, have been enhanced by hand. The image is housed in an embossed leather case under glass. 2.) Quarter plate tintype featuring two unidentified cavalry officers and two cavalry enlisted men posed with drawn 1860 cavalry sabers. The two officers are posed seated with the enlisted men standing behind them. Elements of the uniforms such as buttons, belt plates and sashes, have been enhanced by hand. The image is housed in an embossed leather case, under glass.

    Condition: 1.) Excellent. The image is sharp and clear allowing the viewer to see small details on the soldier's uniforms. The case is worn and the top lid currently held or reinforced by adhesive tape. 2.) Very good to excellent. The subjects are clear and small details of their uniforms are clearly visible. The case is well-worn and the top lid hinge is just holding.
