DescriptionCivil War Ninth Plate Tintype of an Unidentified Soldier. An interesting image featuring a young soldier posed standing with his musket. The uniform is a seven or eight button front shell jacket with stand up collar and shoulder straps. The soldier's origin is difficult to ascertain. Is he a militiaman? Union soldier? Confederate? Offered in the remnants of a Union case which includes the original glass, and brass mat.
Condition: Good. Though the image is generally clear there is some loss to the emulsion and some ghosting.
