A Remarkable Set of Matched 1860 Ferros

1860 Election: A Stunning Matched Set of Four Scarce Oversized Ferrotypes. At 28mm, these beauties have amazingly greater display presence than the typical 24 & 25mm varieties. The Douglas & Johnson is the most frequently seen, and indeed it is the only one of the four actually pictured by Sullivan. The Lincoln & Hamlin is very tough & obviously desirable, and we cannot recall ever having another Breckenridge & Lane. Condition is terrific: the Lincoln is near mint, but for a tiny edge clip (as made) on the obverse ferro insert; the Bell is pristine but for several small indentations which appear to have occurred in manufacture, unobtrusively located on Everett's coat at 6:00; the Breckenridge is pristine, and like the Bell has full original luster on the brass frame; the Douglas is near mint. All eight ferrotype images are bright & choice. A remarkable set which would be all but impossible to duplicate.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
