    Description

    1/6th Plate Tintype of Lucius P. Featherston, Colonel 5th Arkansas Infantry, Killed at Chickamauga, September 19, 1863. Taken while a student at the University of Mississippi in Oxford, young Featherston is posed seated in civilian suit. A partial contemporary note, 3" x 3.25" laid-in the case, reads, in part: "Col. Lucius Featherston Taken as a student at Oxford Miss...so handsome as he was when I first met him". Housed in a nice case with bright mat and preserver. Hinge is loose but untact and there is some scuffing to the corners. Excellent condition.
