    [Texas Rangers]. Benjamin McCulloch Gem-Sized Tintype, circa 1862. Created as a collectible during the Civil War, this tintype of the former Texas Ranger was produced about the time of his death at the Battle of Pea Ridge on March 7, 1862, as a Confederate brigadier general. The leather-bound frame is mildly soiled and contains a five-point Texas star below the image. The original salt print that this tintype is made from is listed in this auction as lot 44041.
