    Stunning Civil War Albumen View of Col. Philipe Regis De Trobriand at Fort Gaines, Tenallytown, Maryland. Further accompanying ID states the fort was "Garrisoned by the 55th N. Y. Infantry". This image appears in Vol I P. 69 as well as Vol. 8 P. 97 of "Miller's Photographic History". Image 10 1/2' X 15 1/2" and mount of stiffened polished cotton 11 1/2" X 17". De Trobriand and his staff in their unique zouave style uniforms. De Trobriand and another officer sight down the barrel of a large seacoast gun. Image and mount both pristine and a really remarkable example of a very famous and rare Civil War image.
