    Description

Emiliano Zapata: A Rare Unpublished Photo of Zapata and his Brother, dated 1914. Zapata has his hands on the shoulders of his brother Eufemio, whom Zapata made a general and one of the leaders of his army, and who was killed shortly after this photo was taken. Zapata wears his trademark tweed jacket and knotted scarf. The caption reads: "1-19-14 Fond memory of your day, Dario." Our research has failed to uncover the identity of Dario, but he was probably one of the other officers pictured. The actual image measures 6" x 8.125", mounted on the original 7.5" x 11" mount. Great condition, with one bit of surface paper loss at lower right-hand corner of the mount, noted for strictest accuracy.

Please note: We have received expert information that this is not a photo of Zapata and his brother. Nonetheless, it is a rare and high quality photo taken during the Mexican Revolutionary period, and extremely desirable as such.
