Stereoviews Picturing Ute Indians. Two stereoviews, each measuring 7" x 4", picturing two different groups of Ute Indians. The first is a studio portrait, circa 1882 picturing a seated group of five who are merely identified, by an inscription on the verso, as "Ute Indians" with "C. H. Clark / Colo Spgs, CO 1882," both in pencil. One of the group rests a rifle in his lap and another holds a revolver. The second image, also a studio portrait, circa 1873, pictures another seated group of five, identified in print on recto as "Ute Chiefs - Warency, Chavano, Ancatosh, Ouray, Guerro." Stamp on recto reads "Colorado Views / Thurlow, Photo. Manitou, Col." Both in good condition with mild foxing. From the estate collection of E. F. Mueller.
