    Multiple places; 1854-1905

    A set of stereoviews all by various photographers and publishers, depicting blacks at work in the antebellum and post-bellum South. Fifteen of the stereoviews depict the picking, packing, and processing of cotton throughout the South in places such as South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Mississippi, and Louisiana. The other three stereoviews show mothers with their children. These images were produced and published by companies such as Strohmeyer & Wyman Publishers, Underwood & Underwood Publishers, Geo. W. Griffith Publishers, James M. Davis, Keystone View Co., American Stereoscopic Co., and numerous others.

    Condition: Toning, with light wear and soiling. Some of the cards are slightly bowed. Else good.
