    Description

    Silver print By Carl Moon Chief Vincente ca 1910. Born in Wilmington, Ohio, 1878. Worked for various photographers in Ohio. In 1907 Moon moved his studio to El Tovar, Grand Canyon and contributed his photographs to Fred Harvey Collection of Southwest Indian Photographs. His large format silver prints were sold through Fred Harvey outlets. In 1923, Moon sold three hundred large format photographs and twelve oil paintings to Henry Huntington. He produced Indians of the Southwest, a four volume atlas-folio set containing one hundred photographs, 1936: however only ten copies were printed.
