    Description

Enrico Caruso Photograph Signed with a Second Unsigned Photograph. A postcard, 3.5" x 5.5", n.p.; September 11, 1911. A signed sepia-toned image of the famed Italian operatic tenor dressed in casual western clothes, which reads "Saluti cordiali Enrico Caruso 11.9.1911". Accompanying the signed image is a photograph, 7" x 5", of Caruso with a group at a garden party or some other outdoor event. Caruso can be seen third from the right.
Caruso (1873-1921) sang to great acclaim at the major opera houses of Europe and the Americas, appearing in a wide variety of roles from the Italian and French repertoires that ranged from the lyric to the dramatic. Caruso is noted as one of the first musicians to record his singing voice, and reportedly made approximately 260 commercially released recordings from 1902 to 1920.
Condition: A small amount of paper loss at the top left corner of the signed image, with some very small imperfections and slight cracking. The unsigned image has silvering. Overall good condition.
