Signed Photographic Print by Lou Stettner, an American photographer known for his strong, simple composition and sensitive use of light. Born in New York in 1922, Stettner studied electrical engineering at Princeton before serving in World War II. He was working for such publications as Time, Paris-Match and National Geographic by the late 1940s, and having one-man shows by 1954. He studied in Paris before returning to the United States to teach at various colleges and universities. Offered here is a touching 8" x 10" B&W photo of a small child in a crowd looking up at his parent. The actual image size is 6.75" x 6.75" and the signature is in the lower margin, "To ADA with much affection Louis Stettner." The 12.25" x 13" mat exhibits some soiling but the photo itself is in excellent condition. Stettner's work appears in the collections of museums including The Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Smithsonian Museum in Washington, D.C. Now it can also hang in your home.
