    Robert L. Haggins (American, 1923-2006). New York Civil Rights Rallies, 1962-1964

    Robert Haggins was well-known as the personal photographer to Malcolm X from 1959 to 1965. These ten black-and-white photographs, approximately 9.5" x 8", feature Malcolm X at New York City civil rights rallies during the early 1960s. All examples have Haggins' imprint on the verso and his 1983 copyright. Examples include:

    Condition: The police barricade photograph has some paper loss at top right and areas of scratches. Portrait of Malcolm X has mounting remnants on verso. Photographs have varying degrees of wear and spots of soiling.
