    Description

    Robert E. Lee: Assorted Copy Images. 1) Tombstone-style portrait, hand-colored and copied from an engraving that appeared in "Harper's Weekly" in July 1864, titled "The Rebel General Robert Edmund Lee". A few scattered stains. 2) Loose albumen of Brady "back door pose 5" image affixed to a later blue album page. 3) Unusual "back door pose 3" portrait with altered background, titled "Gen'l Lee". No credit. 4) Copy image of signed Lee albumen, affixed to a page excised from the 1874 French biography "Le General Lee Sa Vie at ses Campagnes". Believed to have been owned by the author, Edward Lee Childe, a Paris resident and nephew of the General.
