    Rare Sixth Plate Daguerreotype by Pioneer Photographer John Plumbe. Subject is a distinguished gentleman and the image has been professionally cleaned and resealed. Exquisite quality, perfect condition. Die stamped "Plumbe" at the lower right corner of the plain early mat, circa 1845. Housed in a very fine early maroon leather case with central lyre theme on the cover and plain back, purple silk pad. Very scarce and desirable image.
