    Pre War Sixth Plate Ambrotype of US Militia Soldier. Fine quality and condition on ruby glass. Wears what is likely a coatee with high standup up collar, tight sleeves, cloth epaulettes and 8 buttons visible. Stove pipe , doubtless brass mounted, shako with sunburst plate with 1833 Dragoon eagle and large white feathered plume with colored top. Holds something else in his other hand but unidentified. Nice pre war portrait. In full case, hinge split, with wide brass clasp.
