    Description

Silver Gelatin Print: Crow Foot, Sitting Bull's Son, by D. F. Barry of Bismarck, Dakota territory. A 6 x 8" print on Barry's 8.75 x 11.5" later gray board mound (sides slightly trimmed). Barry blindstamp lower left, with title bottom center. Non-studio red label affixed to back. Crow Foot was also killed December 15, 1890 when Agent McGlaughlin ordered the arrest of Sitting Bull at his home at Standing Rock. McGlaughlin feared that sitting Bull would flee the agency as the Sioux had been engaging in the Ghost Dance. (see The Little Shadow Catcher - D. F. Barry by Thomas Heski). From the estate collection of E.F. Mueller.
