Nine Albumen Photographs Pertaining to a Western River Expedition ca 1890s. Location and photographer unknown. The key to identifying these images will be the houseboat found in three of the photographs. A box-like, rectangular affair, its side is clearly marked "Papoose U.S.E." and it appears to be the mobile base camp for an expedition. Associated with the craft is a longboat, which is manned by four oarsmen in two images. Other subjects in this curious group are two settlers' cabins, a riverboat, geological formations and a river town hosting an oil derrick. Certainly worthy of research. Measures approximately 8.50" x 5.25"

Condition: Very good, Browning as expected.
