    Description

Bonnie & Clyde: Law Enforcement Post-Mortems. The gangsters of the 1930's have been romanticized in song and film and perhaps none more so than Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow. Like most outlaws, they met with a gruesome end. This lot contains three 3.5" x 5" sepia-toned silver prints of the folk heroes. These are period prints. One depicts Bonnie standing jauntily in front of her car, smoking a cigarette. The other two are post-ambush images, likely taken in the city morgue or county coroner's office. One shows Bonnie from the chest up and the other shows Clyde, both riddled with bullet holes. They were contained in a City of Houston Inter-Office envelope marked at the bottom: "Identification Bureau Room 423 Police Station 61 Reisner Street". The post-mortem of Bonnie may be unpublished.
