Ninth Plate Tintype Of Federal Soldier In Very Fine Papier Mache Inlaid Case. Very fine quality, excellent, just a few negligible creases not affecting image or emulsion. Remarkably, the subject actually appears to be a woman. Wears black slouch hat with acorn tassel cord, 12 button shell jacket that is open at the bottom exposing either a vest or some kind of a waist sash with three buttons at the bottom. Most unusual and clearly and example of 'you be the judge'. Housed in a very fine papier mache, mother of pearl inlaid case, sound with hinge intact and wide brass clasp.

From the estate of Houston collector Brent Burg.
