Most Rare Sixth Plate Daguerreotype of a Traveling Daguerreotypist's Studio. One of the truly great rarities in daguerreotype collecting, with only a handful of specimens extant. The most recent example to surface was a half plate sold by Heritage in 2010, realizing $95,600. The form and character of this example is very similar. Wooden wagon on wooden spoke wheels, with windows on the front and sky light on the roof. The words "Daguerrian Room" are clearly visible on the side windows under minimal magnification. There is also a display frame, apparently showing examples of the photographer's work hanging on the side of the wagon. Two gentlemen in top hats stand in front. Superb quality and condition, original seal present but open, although the image is clearly untouched/uncleaned. A very rare opportunity to obtain one of the true prizes in daguerreotype collecting.

This was my first time dealing with an auction house, and I am 100% completely impressed with Heritage. There is not an aspect of this process that I have a critique for.
