    Description

Mascher's Improved Stereoscope Daguerreotype patent dated March 8th, 1853. This beautiful invention by J. F. Mascher, incorporated the use of two ordinary lenses in a simple arrangement on a supplementary lid or flip, which allowed the image viewed to be more lifelike. The daguerreotypes presented in this stereoscope are of a thoughtful gentleman. When the supplemental lid is raised, you look through the dual lenses to view him. Missing is the small pull on the flap but the case, daguerreotype, and stereoscope are intact and make an excellent appearance.
