    Lot of Four Cartes de Visite With Occupational Themes. All examples 2.5" x 4". These wonderful images capture men plying their various trades. Included is an image of a well-dressed merchant smoking a cigar, his account book in hand and surrounded by his wares. This image has a "Sam'l Judd", Chicago studio mark on the verso. Another features a tinsmith repairing or constructing a coffee or tea pot. This image has a "Cadwallader & Tappen, Marietta, Ohio" studio mark on the verso. The third image shows two men standing by a wagon which is fitted with a dumping mechanism. The backmark on the verso is "J.E. Torbert, Photographer, Delaware Ave., Wilmington, Delaware". The final image appears to depict a young Iowa newsboy. He holds what appears to be a stack of newspapers under one arm. The studio mark on the verso is "Lewis's Photographic Studio, East Des Moines, Iowa". All examples are bright, sharp and in excellent condition. From the estate collection of E. F. Mueller.
