    Julius White Signed Carte de Visite. 2.5" x 4", bust portrait in his Union uniform, with an A. Hesler, Chicago backstamp on verso. Signed below the image: "Julius White Brig Gen U.S.V."

    Julius White (1816-1890) was commissioned as a colonel of the 37th Illinois Regiment. He fought at such key engagements as the Battle of Pea Ridge, the Second Battle of Bull Run, the Battle of Harpers Ferry, and the Battle of the Crater. He resigned in November 1864 and was breveted major general.

    Condition: Light edge toning and bumped corners. A few spots of soiling on verso.
