    Description

    Joe Rosenthal "Iwo Jima" Photograph Signed "Joe Rosenthal." 8" x 10", black and white photograph, signed in blue ink at the bottom margin of the photograph, adding "Mt. Suribachi, Iwo Jima February 23, 1945". Rosenthal's most famous photograph, depicting the raising of the American flag at the top of Mount Suribachi. Matted to the overall size of 10" x 12". On verso has been written in pencil, "History Photograph 10-7-50 Vt".

    Condition: A few minor creases at extreme corners, not affecting the image. The signature is slightly smudged. The photograph is attached to the matt with tape on verso, overall fine.
