    Description

Interesting Group Of Six Civil War Stereo Views. Subjects as follows: Great Brady's Album Gallery View "No. 426 General Humphrey At Balloon Camp / July 9th 1862"; View with Brady 1862 Copyright info on the front. No label on verso but identified as "Brady in top hat. Gen. Samuel P. Heintzelman with General Staff on steps of Arlington House, former home of Robert E. Lee in Arlington, Va. Late Summer 1861, following the debacle at Bull Run"; View with no label or Copyright but ID on verso as "Gibson's image of the deck of the teaser after her capture. In the background stands her captor, the Maratanza"; No label or copyright info but most unusual subject with a youth of about 16 lying on the floor in Civil War overcoat with a musket attempting to protect himself from a saber thrust from a youth of about the same age seated on a large toy hobby horse. Most unusual; View with no Copyright but period ink ID on verso as "Suspension Bridge from / Canada side / Niagara Falls; Very early, possibly late 1850s allegorical view of two young men standing looking over the shoulder of two men seated, one reading a newspaper. Definitely American and most unusual and rare in this allegorical format. A most interesting group and all in fine to mint condition.
