    General John Rogers Cooke: Cabinet Card and Endorsement Signed. Cabinet card of Cooke with back mark of "Geo. S. Cook, Successor To D. H. Anderson, Richmond, Va". Sold together with a 3" x 1 3/4" document mounted to a card, inscribed: "Hd. Qrs. Cooke's Brig. Apr. 26, 1864. Apprvd. Jno. R. Cooke Brig Genl". Stains, bleed-through, fading. John Rogers Cooke (1833-1891) was wounded an unbelievable seven times during the Civil War. He was the son of Union General Philip St. George Cooke and the brother-in-law of Jeb Stuart. He fought at 1st Manassas, Antietam, Fredericksburg, Bristoe Station and Gettysburg.
