    Five Cartes de Visite of Union Generals: Joseph Lightburn; Edward W. Hinks; Joseph F. Knipe (with clipped signature); Daniel McCook Jr.; and Régis de Trobriand with Grandson. The general featured in each CDV is in uniform except for de Trobriand, who is in civilian clothing as he sits next to his young grandson. All CDVs measure 2.5" x 4" and bear photographers' imprints on the reverse. Some staining. McCook's CDV is faded with heavy staining on the reverse. General Knipe's clipped signature reads, "Jos F. Knipe / Brig Genl / Commdg." General McCook was killed in action on July 27, 1864, at Kennesaw Mountain.
