    Description

Early Photography: Half Plate Daguerreotype Family Group. Half-plate studio portrait of five women identified as "Aaron & Huldah Sackett's married daughters". A pencil note behind the plate indicates the photo was taken on September 25, 1854 by C. Miller. Two additional notes, written in recent times, confirms the identities and adds more details. The image is exceptionally clear, but does have some light rubbing visible only at an angle. The copper mat has some verdigris, as shown, and the paper seals are missing. Housed in an embossed leather case.
