    Confederate Brigadier General William Felix Brantley: Civil War Period Carte de Visite. Approximately 2.25" x 3.75" with a Herrick & Dirr Palace of Art, Vicksburg, Miss. backmark. Brantley is pictured wearing civilian clothes in a handsome head and shoulders pose. William F. Brantley (1830-1870) fought at Shiloh, Chickamauga, the Chattanooga Campaign, Lookout Mountain, Atlanta, Nashville and ended the war in the Carolinas Campaign. He was murdered in 1870 as a result of a family feud. Light age toning with some scattered foxing, otherwise a sharp image in very good condition.
