    Civil War Union Cartes-de-visite: Identified Soldiers Including WIA Gettysburg. Standing studio portrait of soldier, inscribed on verso "Yours Sincerely/ John J. Ferris/ 1st Lieut 19th Mass Vols". Ferris was wounded at Gettysburg and Bristoe Station, but his luck ran out at Spotsylvania Court House on May 12, 1864. J. J. Hawes of Boston back mark, trimmed at bottom, clipped corners at top, slight fade and soiling. 2) Clean 3/4 standing portrait of Sidney Willard, a lawyer who served in Company I Massachusetts 35th Infantry. He was wounded at Fredericksburg on December 13, 1862 and died the next day. Whipple of Boston back mark with revenue stamp.
