    Civil War Stereoviews: Lot of Four Stereo Cards From the War for the Union Photographic War History 1861-1865 Series. Approximately 7" x 4", three examples published by Taylor & Huntington, Hartford, Connecticut; one published by The War Photograph & Exhibition Company, Hartford, Connecticut. Includes: (1) Post-mortem scene of "Embalming Surgeon at Work", No. 2531 in the series. Light toning, else clear and in excellent condition. (2) "Belle Plain Landing, Va. A Picturesque Scene", No. 2483 in the series. Excellent condition. (3) "The Hero of Gettysburg", a classic image of John Burns sitting beside his cottage, No. 2401 in the series. Some scuffing and wear to the mount, else excellent condition. (4) "Winter Quarters of the Engineer Corps" taken before Petersburg in the winter of 1864-65, No. 1047 in the series. Modest handling wear, else excellent condition.
