    Civil War Period Soldier Photography Lot. Includes: 1) Enlarged photograph, on board, of a Union cavalryman, 14 ½" x 19", accented in charcoal. Scattered water stains, some closed edge cracks, upper left corner lacking, otherwise good condition. 2) 1/16th plate tintype of a young Union soldier wearing a kepi. Complete with brass mat and housed in the lower portion of an embossed leather case. 3) 1/16th plate tintype of an unidentified sergeant of the 20th Maine. Clearly visible are the metal numerals "20" on his collar and corps badge. Complete with brass mat but lacking case. 4) 1/9th plate tintype of a Union soldier identified as Captain George Beach. He is pictured wearing an artillery shell jacket from the waist up. Complete with brass mat and broken leather folder. 5) Albumen image of a young boy in a 24 mm brass locket. The image is identified by hand as "Ed Burr / Co. A, 11th / Rhode Island / Vols. Drummer / enlisted at / age 14". 6) Albumen image of a Union enlisted man framed in an oval brass frame. 2 ¼" x 3 ¼" overall. 7) 1/9th plate tintypes of an unidentified Union soldier wearing a camp hat and presumably his wife. Some flaking to surface of the wife's image; halo-effect around the soldier's head. Images are housed in a double Union case. 8) 1/9th plate tintype featuring two unidentified (possibly European) soldiers in uniform. The buttons and collar insignia have been accented in gold. All images in very good or better condition unless otherwise noted.
