    Chuck Stewart (1927-2017) was best known for his photographs of famous jazz musicians. Born in Texas, Stewart went to Ohio University before moving to New York. It was through his friendship with Herman Leonard that he made connections with New York record companies and started photographing artists' cover art. Some of his famous subjects include Ella Fitzgerald, Louie Armstrong, Count Basie, and Miles Davis. His work includes over 2,000 album cover photographs. He was later awarded the Milt Hinton Award for Excellence in Jazz Photography.

    Condition: Light wear, creasing, and soiling at the corners and edges. Else very good.
