Chiricahua Apache Warrior Ba-Keitz-Ogie or The Yellow Coyote: Excellent Baker & Johnson Cabinet Card Photograph. 4" x 6.5" mounted on studio card to an overall size of 4.5" x 7". A fantastic image of Yellow Coyote posed standing and holding what appears to be a Model 1873 carbine and wearing a Mills cartridge belt with brass "US" buckle. He wears a second military-style cartridge belt above the Mills belt. The verso is marked "Baker & Johnston, Evanston, Wyoming" and includes a list of available Indian pictures, and in some cases brief descriptions of the subjects. Yellow Coyote's mini-biography reads: "(The Yellow Coyote) called Dutchy - Chiricahua scout; one of the most notorious of the Chiricahuas: accused of numerous murders of white people." A great image, slightly light, with much detail and in excellent condition.
