    Winfield Scott et al: Four Cartes-de-Visite [CDVs].
    Group includes: Hancock with Brady credit and back mark, McDowell with Appleton credit and back mark, Banks with Appleton back mark (slightly bowed with faint stain) and three orphan children with Gutekunst back mark. This is a period copy image of the CDV found on the effects of Sergeant Hamiston, killed at Gettysburg (Cemetery Ridge). The copies were sold to raise funds to build "an orphanage at Gettysburg for dependent children of Federal soldiers (per pencil inscription on verso).
