Union Major General Quincy Adams Gillmore Signed Carte de Visite. Approximately 2.5" x 4" with a S.A. Cooper / Photographer / 10th Army Corp / Beaufort, / S.C. studio mark on the verso. Signed by the general on the verso: "Q. A. Gillmore / Maj. Genl." A handsome bust portrait of the general in uniform. Encased in a plastic protector. Minor creasing to the albumen image horizontally at the center, else an excellent image. Q. A. Gillmore (1825-1888) was an 1849 graduate of West Point and he served with distinction during the war, commanding the 10th Corp from June, 1863, this image obviously dating from that time.
