    Description

Union Brigadier General Lysander Cutler Pair of Cartes de Visite and Clipped Signature. The CDVs include two views of the General posed standing in uniform, one with a Brady imprint, the other with an E. & H.T. Anthony imprint. One example with clipped lower corners and moderate toning to image, otherwise both are in very good condition. The lot also includes a wartime clipped signature measuring 3.5" x 2.5" and signed "L Cutler". Very good. General Cutler was present at many of the most important battles of the war including Second Bull Run, Chancellorsville, Fredericksburg, and Gettysburg. The wounds in received at the Battle of Globe Tavern in 1864 may have accounted for his death shortly after the war in 1866.
