Union Brigadier General Isaac Stevens: Two Brady Cartes de Visite and Alexander Gardner Stereoview. Two handsome and identical CDV images of Stevens, posed standing in civilian clothing. Each has an E. Anthony studio mark on the verso, with only the mounts and studio marks differing slightly. Both images are clear, sharp and in excellent condition. Also included is a stereo card "Gen'l Stevens and His Staff, at Beaufort, S.C.", number 163 in the Photographic Incidents of the War series, published by E. & H.T. Anthony. Light soiling to mount, otherwise in excellent condition. Isaac Ingalis Stevens (1818-1862) was an 1839 graduate of West Point, seeing action in many battles during the Mexican-American War. He was killed early in the Civil War at the Battle of Chantilly.
